No Author Reference: the title comes first, then the year, then everything else as normal. In-Text reference: Use the title instead of a last name. (Title, year) e.g. (A Comprehensive history of architectural mistakes, 2013)
Example: Reference with author: Zhai, J 2019, High School is Hard, SchoolAdvice.com, accessed 17/3/21, <www.schooladvice.com/zhai/highschoolishard/>.
Same reference without author: High School is Hard, 2019, SchoolAdvice.com, accessed 17/3/21, <www.schooladvice.com/zhai/highschoolishard/>.
In the in-text reference, use the title and the year instead of the author name and the year. (High School is Hard, 2019)
Multiple Authors For two authors, use the format: Last name, first initial & Last name, first initial, year (and the rest of the reference as normal). Use an ampersand & not the word "and". When choosing which author to write first, always write them in the same order as they are listed in the book on the website.
Zhai, J & Ikun, C 2019, High School is Hard, SchoolAdvice.com, accessed 17/3/21, <www.schooladvice.com/zhaiIkun/highschoolishard/>.
In-text referencing: For two authors in an in-text reference, use the format (Last name & Last name, year). For 3 or more authors, use commas to separate last names until the last author, where instead of a comma, use the ‘&’ symbol. (Last name, Last name & Last name, year). The & symbol is grammatically correct (Don’t write “and” instead).
E.g. (Zhai & Ikun, 2019) (Zhai, Ikun & Dang, 2019) (Zhai, Ikun, Dang & Trieu, 2019)
If you’re not sure about the order of the author’s names, use the order listed on the book or website. (This is because they often put the other who did the most work first).
For sources with many authors, use et al. in in-text referencing et al. is a latin phrase meaning "and others". You do need to include the full stop, as it is shortened from longer latin. When you have 4 or more authors you can use this to avoid really long in-text references. You always need to include all author names in the full reference in the reference list.
