Usually credible:
- Australian government sites (e.g. SmartTraveller) - Academic journals and educational magazines (e.g. National Geographic) - Well-known NGOs (non-governmental organisations) such as Amnesty International, Red Cross, Doctors without borders |
Be wary!
- Political parties' websites - Wikipedia, Yahoo Answers, Ask Jeeves, Quora - Any "crowd sourcing" information sites |
There is an author:
What are the author credentials? Why should we trust them? How do we know they are an expert? |
There isn't an author:
Is this information from a well-known source that is generally trusted and/or has a good reputation? Why do we trust this source? What is their purpose? How many years have they been doing this? Do other, trustworthy organisations trust them? Are they legitimate? (What do other experts say about them?) |
